It’s Day Five at the Melbourne Royal Show!

The 2023 Melbourne Royal Show is nearing the halfway point, but there is still plenty of fun to be had, where every day is not your everyday! Victorians are welcome to experience a day like no other with great family fun and farm experiences by day and a feast of fabulous food, spectacular entertainment and live music by night.

Fancy Dress Contest
Horses in Action Arena
Children and their ponies are transformed into colourful homemade costume creations including fairies, firemen, cartoon characters and more in this visually spectacular event judged by Eliza from The Block.

Inspiration Space Demonstration: The Craft of Carving
Spotlight Makers Pavilion
Learn how to make a detailed wood carving with Liam from Golden Elm as he takes us through his techniques and the tools required.

Junior Riding
Horses in Action Arena
Watch Victoria’s best junior riders in the race for a prestigious blue ribbon. They will be judged on their riding ability and presentation.

Pony Rides
Rural Pavilion (first day)
Giddy up and experience the fun and excitement of pony rides, where little adventurers can embark on a fun-filled journey around the Rural Pavilion.

Shetlands
Horses in Action Arena
Australia’s best Shetland ponies compete for a prestigious blue ribbon, as they are judged on the horse’s movement, manners and presentation.

Working Dogs Show
Rural Pavilion (first day)
Led by farmer Mr Jack Brisco, come and see these intelligent, speedy working dogs in full action, rounding sheep into a pen just as they would on the farm.
