Blue Ribbon Competitions

The Melbourne Royal All Breeds Championship Show brought together more than 3,000 dogs across 270 breeds to compete for the coveted Melbourne Royal Blue Ribbon. Australia’s top dogs took to the ring, culminating in the prestigious Best in Show Grand Finale, alongside crowd favourites including the Action Dogs Program and Oodlemania.

The best of Australian sheep breeding came together as exhibitors from across the country competed for the prestigious Melbourne Royal Blue Ribbon. From champion rams and ewes to the feature breed, Hampshire Down, it was one of the Show’s most celebrated livestock competitions.

The Melbourne Royal Alpaca Competition brought together Australia’s finest Huacaya and Suri alpacas as they competed for the prestigious Melbourne Royal Blue Ribbon. Visitors got up close to these remarkable animals and discovered why Australia is home to one of the world’s leading alpaca industries, renowned for producing beautifully soft, luxurious fleece.

The Melbourne Royal Beef Cattle Competition brought magnificent cattle and the dedication of their breeders to centre stage. From Angus and Hereford to Charolais, Speckle Park and more, top breeders and young handlers showcased some of Australia’s finest cattle breeds as they competed for the prestigious Melbourne Royal Blue Ribbon.

The Melbourne Royal Show celebrated the power, grace and excitement of Horses in Action. Across 11 action-packed days, more than 250 classes showcased incredible equine talent, from elegant Saddle Ponies and stylish Turnouts to powerful Showjumpers and magnificent Clydesdales. The skill, athleticism and connection between horse and rider came to life.

The Melbourne Royal Woodchop Championships celebrated power, precision and tradition for an unforgettable Show experience. Competitors went head-to-head across a range of woodchopping and sawing events, as we celebrated 70 years of the prestigious Golden Axe – the ultimate prize in Woodchop.

The Melbourne Royal Show celebrated the creativity and craftsmanship of the Spotlight Makers Pavilion, where imagination came to life through thousands of Art, Craft and Cookery Competition exhibits. Visitors explored stunning creations, watched live demonstrations, met local makers and enjoyed hands-on activities for all ages. From decorated cakes and preserves to handcrafted pieces and new creative classes, there was always something inspiring to discover.
