The official Melbourne Royal Show website is the only place you can trust to verify that your ticket is valid to ensure you are guaranteed entry at the time of the event.

How can I report lost property at the Show?

If you have lost an item while attending the Melbourne Royal Show, please click here to complete our online lost property form.

 

You will receive a confirmation email once we have received your form. If you do not receive this email, it’s possible that the email address you provided was incorrect, and you may need to submit the form again.

 

Once we have your submission, we will reach out to you if the item is found or returned to our team.

How do I purchase tickets?

You can conveniently purchase tickets online via the Melbourne Royal Show website. Please visit the Buy Tickets page for more information. 

The official Melbourne Royal Show website is the only place you can trust to verify that your ticket is valid to ensure you are guaranteed entry at the time of the event.

What does a Family ticket include?

A Family ticket admits 4 people. This can include 2x adults and 2x children or 1x adult and 3x children. If purchasing a Family ticket, you will receive 1 PDF ticket to be scanned upon entry, which will admit all 4 people. Please note that all family members must be present at the time of entry as the ticket only scans once.

What payment methods are accepted for ticket purchases?

We accept VISA and Mastercard credit and debit cards.

Can I change my ticket to a different day if I am unable to attend?

If you chose a specific day to attend the Show when you made your purchase, you won’t be able to change your ticket to another day. The only option for complete flexibility in attending the Show on any day you prefer is to buy a Flexi-Ticket. 

Why should I purchase a Flexi-Ticket?

A Flexi-Ticket grants you access to the Show on any one day throughout the event period, so you aren’t required to choose a specific date. Please note that the ticket is valid for a single scan and cannot be reused on multiple days. 

Can I get a refund for my ticket?

All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by Australian consumer law.

How and where can I purchase a Rides Pass, and where do I redeem them at the Show?

You can add a Digital or Physical Rides Pass that can be used on all rides at the Show to your online cart when purchasing an entry ticket.

Physical Rides Pass

To redeem your physical Rides Pass, present the PDF voucher (found in your ticket confirmation email) at any of the Rides Pass Redemption booths located within the Melbourne Showgrounds site. You can find Rides Pass Redemption Booth locations and additional information on the Show map.

Digital Rides Pass

To use your digital Rides Pass simply add it to your Apple/Android wallet or view it in your browser by following the instructions in your ticket confirmation email.

Please be aware that the type of Rides Pass you choose at the time of purchase is final. It cannot be changed from Digital to Physical or the other way around.

Can you scan my ticket from my phone?

Yes, you can present your ticket on your smartphone for scanning at the gate. Please ensure that the brightness of your screen is adjusted for easy and efficient scanning. You also have the option to add the ticket to your Apple or Google Wallet.

What is the last time tickets are scanned at the Melbourne Royal Show?

Tickets can be purchased online until 8.40pm each day, and the last tickets will be scanned at 8.45 pm nightly.

Can I purchase a ticket for the same day of the Show?

Yes, you can conveniently buy your tickets online on the event day, but do keep in mind that it is subject to capacity limits.

Who is eligible for a concession ticket?

Concession tickets are available for seniors (Senior Citizen card holders), students, carers, and health care card holders (with valid ID). 

 

Please be prepared to provide proof of your concession eligibility if requestedshowing online enrolment for students will not be accepted, a current physical or digital student ID card is required.

Do children 4 years old and under require a ticket?

Children aged 4 years old and under will not require a ticket for entry and are admitted FREE.

Please inform a staff member at the gate entrance on arrival and be prepared to provide proof of the child’s age if requested.

Do children require supervision?

All children aged 12 years old and under must be supervised by an adult whilst attending the Show.

I experienced internet connection issues while ordering online. Have I been charged?

Please check your online bank account/credit card statement to confirm if the purchase went through. The description on your statement will appear as “Melb Show Tix”.

 

Additionally, an email containing your Ticket Order Confirmation and attached tickets will be sent to the email address provided during purchase.

What tickets are available for companions of guests with disabilities or special needs?

Where an individual holds a Government issued Companion Card, they are permitted complimentary entry for one support person, to the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show.

 

The Companion Card holder must have a valid concession entry ticket to the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show. The card holder must present their valid Companion Card at the gate to be allowed their “Companion” eligible free entry.

How do I select the day I want to attend?

Ticket purchasers are required to select a specific day to attend. Upon beginning the purchasing process, you will be prompted to select your day of attendance.

 

If you are unsure of which date you would like to attend, you may purchase a Flexi-Ticket to keep your options open. If you plan to visit on multiple days, you need to make a separate transaction for each date. 

 

Alternatively, you may consider purchasing a Melbourne Royal Membership to receive unlimited entry to the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show.

I purchased a ticket but cannot find it in my inbox. Where can I find my ticket?

Your tickets will be sent through SMS (if you provided a mobile number during checkout) and via email. By clicking the link in your SMS, you’ll have the option to easily add your tickets to your Apple or Android wallet or view them in your browser.

 

If you open the email confirmation, you’ll find your tickets attached as a PDF, or you can choose to add them to your Apple or Android wallet or view them in your browser.

 

Please check your text messages or both your inbox and junk/spam folders for an email from tickets@melbourneroyal.com.au with the subject line “2026 Melbourne Royal Show – Ticket Order Confirmation”.

 

During peak sale periods, it may take some time for the email to reach your inbox. Please allow up to 30 minutes before contacting us to follow up on your tickets.

 

If you believe you entered an incorrect email address or mobile number and still haven’t received your tickets, please send an email to tickets@melbourneroyal.com.au, providing your full name and the email address used during checkout.

Is there a discount if I arrive late in the day?

Yes. If you are planning to arrive later in the day, you may want to consider purchasing a Twilight ticket. This ticket type is valid for one single entry after 5pm on your nominated day and allows you to enjoy all the evening entertainment.

When can I use an Unlimited Rides Pass?

This year we are offering an Unlimited Rides Pass that will only be valid on the opening day of the Show, Thursday 24 September. With this pass, you will have access to all valid rides (excluding Pony rides) between 10am and 2pm.  

There are two Unlimited Rides Passes available for purchase depending on your height. Please visit the Buy Tickets page for more detailed information and to purchase.

What is Seniors Day?

Seniors will be eligible for further discounted tickets on Tuesday 29 September. Please be prepared to provide your Seniors Card as proof of your eligibility if requested. Please visit the Buy Tickets page for more detailed information and to purchase.

Can I leave and come back on the same day?

Yes, if you wish to exit the Showgrounds and plan to come back, you can be issued with a pass out by gate staff, which will allow you to return on that same day. 

 

You may use your pass out on multiple occasions for re-entry during the same day that the pass out was issued. 

 

Pass outs are only valid for use for re-entry on the day the Pass Out is issued.

How can I request Show tickets for a charity or fundraiser?

The Melbourne Royal Show is pleased to support its 2026 official Charity Partner, Farm Angels.  As such the tickets allocated for charities and fundraising have been exhausted for 2026.

General FAQs

Will there be fireworks at the Melbourne Royal Show?

Yes! The fireworks will be back in 2026. As with any outdoor entertainment, the fireworks display is subject to change or cancellation without notice due to adverse weather conditions, safety, or other operational reasons.

 

The Melbourne Royal Show team will do our best to update patrons of potential entertainment changes where possible. 

How can I apply for a job/volunteering at the Melbourne Royal Show?

Applications are open now to volunteer at the 2026 Show. If you’re interested in volunteering, please visit our Volunteers page to apply today. Applications close Thursday 3rd September, 2026.

Will there be lockers and phone chargers at the Show?

Lockers will be available at several locations throughout the Melbourne Showgrounds during the Show. Locations will be outlined and can be found on the Show map.

 

A range of locker sizes will be available, with hire starting from $10. Some smaller lockers will also include built-in phone chargers for your convenience at no extra cost.

Can I bring my own lunch to the Melbourne Royal Show?

Certainly! You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks to the Melbourne Royal Show.  

 

Please note that glass and breakable containers are strictly not permitted, and all other drink containers must be sealed, except for reusable water bottles which must be empty upon entry.

How do I make a reservation for the Member's Bistro?

The Member’s Bistro is open daily from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the last seating at 8:00 pm. We recommend booking your table before arriving at the Show.

Can I bring alcohol to the Show?

No, outside alcohol cannot be brought onto the Melbourne Showgrounds during the Melbourne Royal Show. However, designated areas are available where you can purchase and enjoy alcoholic beverages. 

Can I bring my own dog or pet onsite?

No animals, with the exception of accredited guide and accredited assistance animals, are permitted onsite. This does not include animals that are partaking in competitions or part of Show entertainment.

Will cash be accepted at the Melbourne Royal Show?

Cash is considered legal tender and should be accepted at all outlets throughout the Melbourne Showgrounds during the Melbourne Royal Show. However, please note that there may be some commercial stands that choose not to accept cash. We do not have a way of determining in advance which stands will or won’t accept cash. ATMs will also be accessible throughout the Show for cash withdrawals.

What facilities do you have for parents?

We understand the needs of parents and carers and want to make your visit as comfortable and convenient as possible. 

 

During the Melbourne Royal Show, three Parent Rooms will be available across the Showgrounds. Locations are clearly marked and can be found on the Show map.

 

Each Parent Room provides: 

  • Private breastfeeding and feeding spaces 
  • Baby change facilities 
  • Facilities for warming bottles and baby food 
  • Access to handwashing facilities 

Our Parent Rooms are designed to provide a clean, comfortable and welcoming space for families to care for young children throughout their visit.

Do you have mobility scooters or wheelchairs for hire?

While we do not have mobility scooters for hire, we do offer standard manual wheelchairs for a fee. These can be hired from the Lost Persons/Lost Property Centre, under the ‘Wonder Pie in the Sky’ for $5 per hour with a credit card required as a deposit and the completion of a rental agreement. Please note that wheelchairs cannot be pre-booked.

Do you have charging stations for electric wheelchairs/mobility scooters?

We provide power charging stations for electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters under the ‘Wonder Pie in the Sky’ and in the ONCALL Sensory Lounge during the Melbourne Royal Show.

Please note that patrons must bring their own charger to use these power charging stations. Some chargers may be available in the ONCALL Sensory Lounge; however, we cannot guarantee that all charger types can be catered for.

Can you smoke/vape at the Melbourne Royal Show?

The Melbourne Royal Show is a smoke-free event, smoking and vaping is not permitted onsite at Melbourne Showgrounds.

Can I take photographs and videos of my day at the Melbourne Royal Show?

Absolutely! You are encouraged to capture your special moments by taking photographs and videos during the Melbourne Royal Show and post them to social media with #MelbRoyalShow.

Is there a prayer room/space?

Yes, a multifaith Prayer Room is available for patrons who would like to pray during their time at the Melbourne Royal Show.

Distribution of flyers by organisations or individuals onsite is not permitted unless prior approval has been granted by Melbourne Royal Management. 

Volunteer FAQS

When are applications open? 
Applications are open now! You can apply today to join the Melbourne Royal family and volunteer at the Show.  

Applications close Thursday 3rd September, 2026.

What is the role of a Volunteer Team Leader?
You will provide guidance, coordination and day-to-day oversight of volunteers, ensuring they are supported, informed and able to deliver a high standard of customer service while having a memorable experience.
What steps are involved in applying to volunteer at the Melbourne Royal Show?
Once your application is received (including your valid Working With Children Check), you will be invited to an online/phone interview to assess suitability (excluding corporate volunteers).

Successful applicants will then welcomed to our Volunteer Family, be invited to complete some online training to support you in your role, and you will indicate your availability across the event period, and begin confirming your Volunteer Service Calendar for 1 or more 4 hour shifts of the Melbourne Show period.

Do volunteers at the Melbourne Royal Show need a Working With Children Check? 
Yes! A valid Working With Children Check card is required for all Melbourne Royal volunteer roles. If you do not currently hold a WWCC you are able to apply for a free volunteer check via the Service Victoria Website.

Please nominate Melbourne Royal as the organisation when completing this process to ensure we are notified once the check is complete.

Is there an age requirement to volunteer at the Melbourne Royal Show? 
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to join the team.  
How long will I need to work as a volunteer?

Melbourne Royal Show volunteer shifts range in length from 4 to 7 hours depending on the role.

What can I expect to receive as a volunteer? 
  • The opportunity to meet and work with interesting, fun and diverse group of people.   
  • The chance to get behind the scenes of Victoria’s largest community event. 
  • 2 Show tickets for every volunteer shift you complete for every 4 or more hours shift, 
  • Commemorative volunteer hat and water bottle, 
  • Access to the Melbourne Royal Show Volunteer Lounge.  
  • An invitation to a Volunteer Appreciation Event, commemorative certificate and volunteer service letter.   
Is there a minimum number of shifts I need to commit to? 
We welcome as much availability as you can offer. While three shifts is generally our preferred minimum commitment, any contribution is valued and appreciated.

Please note that some roles may require specific consecutive availability. Some benefits are have an eligibility of minimum 4 shifts.

I may need additional support to volunteer — is that available? 
Yes. Melbourne Royal is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible volunteering experience. We recognise that people may require different types of support to participate fully and comfortably.

If you need additional support, adjustments or flexibility to take part in a volunteer role, we encourage you to reach out. This may include support with role selection, training, accessibility requirements or other individual needs.
