You are welcome to still apply and we will contact you if any last minute volunteer opportunities arise. If you do not here from us, then your application will be considered for the 2027 Melbourne Show.

Volunteer Roles
Volunteer Team Leaders will provide guidance, coordination and day-to-day oversight of volunteers, ensuring they are supported, informed and able to deliver a high standard of customer service while having a memorable experience.
Nursery & Activity Assistants will support a range of activities across the Showgrounds, including supervising participation areas, managing queues for popular attractions while helping create a safe, fun, and memorable environment.
Create Space Assistants will help in our hands-on workshop area featuring a variety of creative activities, particularly popular with children and families.
Customer Service Support will provide frontline assistance across the Showgrounds, including greeting guests, supporting wayfinding, assisting with crowd movement and contributing to the prevention of lost children.
Animal Activation Assistants will support the presentation and maintenance of animal display while providing a safe, informative and engaging experience for visitors.
Volunteer FAQs
You will provide guidance, coordination and day-to-day oversight of volunteers, ensuring they are supported, informed and able to deliver a high standard of customer service while having a memorable experience.
Successful applicants will then welcomed to our Volunteer Family, be invited to complete some online training to support you in your role, and you will indicate your availability across the event period, and begin confirming your Volunteer Service Calendar for 1 or more 4 hour shifts of the Melbourne Show period.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to join the team.
Melbourne Royal Show volunteer shifts range in length from 4 to 7 hours depending on the role.
- The opportunity to meet and work with interesting, fun and diverse group of people.
- The chance to get behind the scenes of Victoria’s largest community event.
- 2 Show tickets for every volunteer shift you complete for every 4 or more hours shift,
- Commemorative volunteer hat and water bottle,
- Access to the Melbourne Royal Show Volunteer Lounge.
- An invitation to a Volunteer Appreciation Event, commemorative certificate and volunteer service letter.
