Melbourne Royal Show reveals 2023 Showbag Selection

Today, the Melbourne Royal Show revealed the much-anticipated showbag line-up for 2023, with the Minister for Consumer Affairs, the Honourable Danny Pearson MP, joining students from St Margaret’s Primary School in Maribyrnong, for a sneak peek of the newest bags as well as the iconic favourites available at this year’s Show.

No matter if you are coming to the Melbourne Royal Show to enjoy family fun and farm experiences by day, and a feast or food and spectacular entertainment by night, everyone will want to make a stop at the Showbag Pavilion to discover over 395 showbags, located in the heart of the Melbourne Showgrounds, from Thursday 21 September to Sunday 1 October 2023.

“Each year we work closely with the Minister’s office to ensure the quality and safety of all our showbags on site and this year was no different,” said Hannah von Bibra, Melbourne Royal Executive General Manager for Client Experience and Commercial.

With over 395 showbags available to choose from, there will be something to suit every taste at this year’s Melbourne Royal Show. Be it confectionery favourites like Wizz Fizz, Allen’s or Jelly Belly; chocolate lovers like the iconic Bertie Beetle or assorted Cadbury delights; novelty characters like Bluey, Barbie or Harry Potter; your favourite sporting team, be it AFL, NRL or the Matilda’s; or unique gourmet tastes, there truly is something for everyone.

Showbags have been a part of the Melbourne Royal Show for over 100 years, with iconic Bertie Beetle, celebrating its 60th year in 2023. Disney will also be offering a limited edition showbag, exclusively at the Melbourne Royal Show, to celebrate their 100th anniversary.

“Showbags are one of the most iconic parts of the Show experience, and this year we have worked with our showbag providers to ensure as many of your favourite showbags will be available at the same price as last year, providing great value for families who don’t have to miss out on grabbing the hottest accessory at the Show,” said von Bibra.

The 2023 Melbourne Royal Show will offer families even great value with up to 11 hours of entertainment and experiences every day. There will be over 100 free things to do, discover and experience, from animal and farm experiences, arts and craft, digging for veggies or milking a cow.

With all new ticket bundles, families can save up to 15% by pre-purchasing their tickets online ahead of the Show and save up to 25% on ride vouchers. Family tickets are available from just $89 as part of our early bird offers.
