Melbourne Royal Show reveals 10 must-try Best Bites for 2026
From Flying Noodles and Dragon’s Breath to a Jam Jar Churro, 10 mouth-watering creations are set to make their Melbourne Royal Show debut.
Get ready to eat your way around the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show, with 10 must-try Best Bites revealed ahead of the gates opening from Thursday 24 September to Sunday 4 October.
More than 70 Show food traders were challenged to create something visitors haven’t experienced at the Melbourne Royal Show before. From 23 submissions, 10 standout sweet and savoury creations were shortlisted for the inaugural Melbourne Royal Show Best Bites.
Designed to be delicious, surprising and seriously shareable, Best Bites celebrates the creativity of Show food traders and gives visitors 10 new food experiences to seek out, taste and share in 2026.
Ahead of the Show, the Best Bites will be put to the taste test by a panel including Herald Sun Food & Wine Editor and restaurant critic Kara Monssen, media personality Tyra Stowers and [BROADSHEET REPRESENTATIVE], who will taste their way through the Top 10 and share their favourites.

“We challenged more than 70 traders to show us something our visitors hadn’t experienced here before, and the creativity has been incredible.
“Best Bites is something we’d love to build on each year – giving our traders the chance to get creative and giving visitors another reason to explore, try something new and find their own favourite bite at the Show. Come hungry!”
