Visitors had a flock-tastic experience at this year's Show, with a dazzling array of birds on display across all 11 days of the Show in the designated Poultry Pavilion.

1,200 of Australia's fanciest chickens, ducks, and turkeys!
The 2023 Melbourne Royal Show Poultry Competition hosted 1200 chickens, ducks, and turkeys, with some of the fanciest poultry in the country – it was the perfect opportunity to admire these magnificent creatures up close.
The country's finest birds were on display in the Poultry Pavilion for the full 11 days of the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show.

More than 1000 fancy feathered friends
The 2023 feature breed was the Australorp, an Australian breed popular in many backyards around the country. Australorps are known for their calm temperament and their impressive egg laying statistics. In fact, it’s said that an Austrarlorp holds the record for the most eggs laid by a chicken – one hen laid 364 eggs in 365 days.
Judging was held on Wednesday, September 20, one prior to the Show opening.
