Visit the LifeWise Dogs Precinct from 24 September to 4 October to see Australia’s top dogs in action, culminating in the Grand Finale on Saturday 3 October, where the very best compete for Best in Show and a coveted Melbourne Royal Blue Ribbon.
For high-energy entertainment, head to the outdoor grass ring from 24 to 27 September for the Action Dogs Program. Watch dogs and their handlers wow the crowd with agility, jumping, obedience and games – it’s fast, fun, and full of four-legged stars.
Following its successful debut in 2025, Oodlemania returns on Sunday 4 October, celebrating the charm, intelligence and personality of Australia’s much-loved poodle crossbreeds.
Rally trials require impeccable teamwork and strong relationships to navigate a unique course. Each dog and handler are judged on their obedience skills across four levels of difficulty. Rally will run across 2 rings in the LifeWise Dog Precinct.
Dogs of all ages, breeds, and skill levels show off their hard-earned skills at the Obedience trials. From the basics of sit and stay to difficult scent retrievals these dogs and handlers display their intelligence and trust in each other.
Dogs from all over Australia are judged by acclaimed international judges to prove which dog best fits the breed standard. Over 180 breeds will present the best examples of their breed in the hopes of continuing to the coveted Best In Show award.
Young handlers aged between seven and nineteen years display their handling skills. The Junior Showmanship class is a Melbourne Royal Show tradition where the handling skills of the participant are judged, not the quality of the dog. The winner of each age group will compete for Best Overall Junior Showman. Time is approximate, not before 3pm.
Intelligent, strong and quick, this exciting competition sees these athletic animals compete in jumping and agility trials as judges assess their speed, skills and obedience. Dog and handler race to beat the clock as they navigate obstacles and jumps.
Fun and fast paced Agility Games test both handler and dog on their skill and communication. Handlers must pick the course to earn the most points while racing against the clock to have the fastest time. No two runs will be the same in this energetic and chaotic competition.
Cute puppies, beautiful veterans and accomplished Champions will compete together in these unique classes. The Sweepstakes classes are open to all purebred dogs and features an Australian judge.
The best of every breed return to compete against each other for Best In Group. The winners will go on to compete for the coveted Best In Show. Witness the best of the best as they are judged on breed type, movement and quality, to be the most outstanding example of its breed and group.
The culmination of nine days of judging and over 180 different breeds, this is the most prestigious award at the Melbourne Royal All Breeds Championship Show. Proven winners from each of the breed groups strut their stuff in hopes of winning Best In Show.
