Top tips for making your way to the Royal Melbourne Show.
It’s nearly Show-time! To make the most of your unforgettable day at the Royal Melbourne Show, here are our top tips for making your way to the event.
- Pre-purchase your tickets!
If you haven’t yet grabbed your tickets, now is the time! By buying tickets online by 9pm tonight (Friday 22nd September) you can save up to 20% on admission.
Buying your tickets during the Show? You can still save up to 10% if you buy online before you arrive.
Buying online will save you time as well as you can skip the ticket box and head straight to the entry gate upon arrival.
- Pre-purchase your rides passes
Planning on hitting the Coca-Cola Thrillseekers Carnival, or taking the kids for their first dodgem cars ride? Jump online before 9pm tonight and save up to 30% on rides passes.
You can select the value that is most suited to you and your rides pass can be shared amongst family and friends attending on the same day (the value will be on one card though so you will need to be close by to use it at the same time!).
- Plan your day!
Jump on royalshow.com.au for a full wrap of everything that is happening at the Royal Melbourne Show – and there is a lot! Use the daily planner to select the day you are attending, and see the highlighted events, or select your own and take note of performance or competition times to help plan out your day before you arrive.
- Take public transport
The Royal Melbourne Show is easily accessible by public transport with Show trains from Flinders street and trams from the city dropping you right at the gate!
- Have your tickets and bags ready for inspection when you enter
You have made it to the Show – and the excitement levels are high! To assist with a simple and quick entry, please have your bags and tickets ready for inspection when you reach the gate.
The great news is, you can either print your tickets or have them scanned directly from your mobile device.
Don’t have a bag or a pram? Make your way to the express lanes on the left hand side or the gate.
Remember there are hours and hours of entertainment at the Show, so you wont miss a thing!
- Grab a map at the gate
Melbourne Showgrounds is a big, exciting place during the Show, so grab your map at the gate, to find your way to your favourite attractions!
- Collect your ID wristband for children and companions
Parents and carers can collect a free wristband at gate entrances for the easy location and identification of lost children and companions.
- Head to the Showbag Pavilion early!
The Showbag Pavilion is a super exciting stop on your Show journey. Head there in the morning for the quieter times, and use the lockers onsite (from $2) to store your goodies until you are ready to leave!
- Redeem your ride pass
If you took our advice and bought your rides pass online, it’s now time to redeem your ride voucher at the information booths (some ticket boxes also offer ride redemption – look out for the signs). Present your purchased ride pass for scanning to receive your ride card – which can be swiped at any ride at the Show (with the exception of pony rides). Now the fun really starts!
- Grab an award-winning coffee
If like us, you need the golden bean to kickstart your day, then the Winning Tastes Deli in the Winning Tastes Pavilion has to be one of your first stops, serving up delicious award-winning coffee.
- Enjoy an unforgettable day!
The Show is an unforgettable day with family and friends that will create life-long memories.
So take it all in.
