The Fuller Family of Pine Creek Angus Stud, Cowra, New South Wales has taken out the top prize in the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition, with four-year-old cow, Pine Creek Miss E99 Foreman J181.
Operated by Greg, Sharon, Christie and Andrew Fuller, Pine Creek Angus is one of New South Wales’ most successful Showing studs in the industry.
At the Royal Melbourne Show, Miss E99 Foreman J181 took home the titles of Senior Champion Cow, Supreme Senior Champion Beef Breed Female and Grand Champion Female, with Pine Creek Angus Stud also being awarded Most Successful Angus Exhibitor.
Pine Creek has seen much success with this exhibit in the ring this year, winning Grand Champion Angus Female at the Sydney Royal and the Royal Adelaide Show.
Conducted annually by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the 2017 competition attracted 515 entries from 150 exhibitors.
With a commitment to showcasing and celebrating Victorian agriculture, the competition offers participants the opportunity to benchmark their livestock and receive invaluable feedback from both local and international industry experts.
RASV CEO, Mark O’Sullivan said the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition highlighted the quality of the production of beef in Australia.
“The 2017 Royal Melbourne Show saw the best cattle in the country compete for the prestigious title of Supreme Champion,” said Mr O’Sullivan.
“It has been a stellar Show for Pine Creek Angus Stud and we congratulate them on their continued success.”
“The 2017 Royal Melbourne Show was also thrilled to host the world’s largest showing of Speckle Park in the Speckle Park Feature Breed Show, with 89 head competing.”
The feature breed for the 2018 Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition will be the Red Poll.
