The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) is thrilled to announce that Australian rock-legend Jimmy Barnes, will be performing at the 2018 Royal Melbourne Show.

Kicking off the opening weekend and included in the ticket price of entry, the Cold Chisel icon will be taking centre stage for one performance only on Saturday 22 September, from 5pm, performing his greatest hits.

The performance marks the 30th anniversary since Jimmy last performed at Melbourne Showgrounds, last taking the stage at Under the Southern Cross, back in February of 1988, at what was referred to as “the greatest ever celebration of Australia’s finest performers”.  Jimmy performed alongside a stellar line-up of rock legends including ICEHOUSE, Mental as Anything, The Angels and John Farnham.

Speaking to the excitement of performing at the Royal Melbourne Show, Jimmy says, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since I last performed at the Melbourne Showgrounds, and I can’t wait to perform at the Royal Melbourne Show. The Show is such an iconic Australian event and I’m thrilled to be part of the entertainment line-up. I look forward to seeing Melbourne come alive in September for an epic performance.”

Joining the roster of entertainment is the talented Circus Oz ensemble, who are set to captivate crowds with their Neon show, featuring stunning acrobatic skills, breath taking feats of circus, and a smattering of Flashdance choreography, in a celebration of everything glitzy and fabulous about the 1980's.

For lovers of adventurous action, The Flair Riders will showcase an impressive display of stunts this year, performing daily at the Entertainment Precinct, alongside the Wheelie Jeep riders.  The Herald Sun Arena will also showcase daring entertainment, with an intrepid line-up of activity from the Freestyle Motorcross Riders, as well as the Monster Trucks for all to see throughout the Show.

The entertainment roster does not stop there, with more unforgettable acts to be announced later this month.

Speaking to the entertainment line-up, Paul Guerra, Chief Executive Officer RASV, says, “the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria is committed to providing Show visitors with even greater entertainment value this year. Family tickets have been reduced by 10% and we have an amazing line up of unforgettable entertainment included in the price of entry and we are thrilled to have Jimmy Barnes performing live in concert for 90 minutes for the opening day.”

The unforgettable Royal Melbourne Show will be held from Saturday 22 September to Tuesday 2 October at Melbourne Showgrounds.
