On Herald Sun Arena, watch the spectacle of the Great Aussie Sheep Muster or the prestige of the Grand Cattle Parade, a traditional Show favourite.

Head to The Farmhouse to see the exciting and educational Sheep Shearing Show, Legendairy Milking Barn and Training Horses for Movie Magic show! These fun and engaging shows run for 15 minutes and are each on four times daily. 

  • Sheep Shearing Show - watch a real sheep being shorn while learning all about wool, why it's so important and how it's graded.
  • Legendairy Milking Barn - See first hand, the first step in dairy production by hand milking a cow - a popular and fun activity, only at the Royal Melbourne Show.
  • Training Horses - learn how horses are trained for film, TV and live performances with an advanced animal trainer

Witness clever canines rounding sheep as they would in the farm in the Working Dogs Show or have a chat to Farmer Darryl about life on the land and tending to farm animals in The Animal Farmyard.

Ever wondered how milk gets from the cows in the paddock to your fridge? See first hand, the first step in dairy production by hand milking a cow - a popular and fun activity, only at the Royal Melbourne Show. Learn about the dairy industry and how butter and cream are made at the Legendairy Milking Barn within The Farmhouse, then have a go at milking a real live cow.

Australia is the world's largest producer of wool - but have you ever wondered how wool gets from the sheep's back into your socks? Watch a real sheep being shorn while learning all about wool, why it's so important and how it's graded. The action happens in The Farmhouse every day, when professional shearers take the crowd through the shearing process fleece by fleece. You can even receive a lesson from the master shearers and try your hand at shearing a sheep yourself! A unique experience you will only see at the Royal Melbourne Show!

Ever wondered how animals are trained for films? Come and see Adam from Darkhorse Productions in The Farmhouse. Adam is an advanced animal trainer who trains animals for film, TV and live performances. Adam's main aim is to inspire people to provide better conditions and show more respect for our planet's amazing creatures through connections made when people and animals work together.
Working Dogs Show

The popular working dogs will be performing in the expanded Animal Farmyard on Town Square. Come see these intelligent, speedy working dogs in full action, rounding sheep into a pen just as they would on a working farm.

See working dogs do what they do best in this educational demonstration celebrating Aussie sheep farmers. Watch as 150 sheep are herded by working dogs through a planned route of farm obstacles, in an exciting display of life on the farm and join in the celebration of one of Australia's most significant industries.
