Grand Pavilion – Open 9.30am – 8.30pm
There's nothing like the Grand Pavilion for tasty food and beverage experiences! Prominently located in the heart of the Melbourne Showgrounds, this magnificent pavilion showcases the best produce including dairy, beer, wine, confectionery, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, grains, fine foods, honey and preserves, cakes and sweets, general food industries and much more. The Grand Pavilion features the Woolworths Fresh Food Showcase, Yarra Valley Regional Display and major food industry group displays.
The Grand Pavilion also features the Great Tasting Experience Stage with daily cooking demonstrations starring celebrity chefs and wine, beer and coffee master classes.

The Great Tasting Experience
The Great Tasting Experience features two intimate stages in the Grand Pavilion providing demonstration from chefs and industry experts. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about wine, beer and coffee through informative master classes. A treat for all the senses, you will see, smell and taste different varieties of wine, beer and coffee and learn how to match your favourite foods with your favourite drinks.

Kids Cooking Competition
Budding chefs are invited to show off their cooking skills in the Kids Cooking Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show. Each day at 11am on the Great Tasting Experience stage, two teams from a different school will cook off to see who is best mini chef! This hotly contested competition is a great way of encouraging the younger generation to have a greater interest in good food! The Cooking Competition is open to all young cooks so get the recipes out and start cooking!

Pete Pie
The Baking Industry Association of Victoria's popular Pete Pie Factory provides a fantastic insight into the nocturnal world of baking. You can watch a pie being made from start to finish and then taste the results!
Spudhunters
Curious about spuds? Spudhunters is a free and exciting interactive food education activity for children aged between 4 and 10 years old, in the Grand Pavilion. This fun ‘hands on’ food game celebrates the potato while encouraging children to join the journey of the whole ‘farm’ to ‘table’ experience of the humble but rich spud! Children will learn about the life cycle of the potato and life as a potato farmer with a resident chef on board to tantalize their tastes with scrumptious morsels, demonstrating simple, tasty recipes that are easy to make at home using freshly dug spuds!
Children will leave Spudhunters with a couple of potatoes each to take home, growing & eating notes, some meaningful kitchen garden education as well as learning what a wonderful food source the spud is!
Gourmet Kids
Sift, whisk, bake - what will you make? For the first time at the Show, Gourmet Kids will be running a fun filled hands on cooking activity for mini chefs from 3 yrs and above in the Grand Pavilion. Children will have the opportunity to make one (or more) of Gourmet Kids signature biscuits where they will combine art together with cooking which looks great and taste even better!
Honey
Look at the wondrous display of delicious honey from the Victorian Apiarists Association where you can taste various Australian produced honey from NSW, Tasmania, SA and Victoria including the standout, seldom produced feature Brown Stringy Bark Honey! See inside a live Bee Hive and talk to professional bee keepers about any bee keeping problems you have and make sure you pick up a Honey Show Bag!
Woolworths Showcase
Visitors to the Woolworths Showcase in the Grand Pavilion will enjoy a roving feast with sampling of Victorian grown fresh food from the Woolworths produce, bakery, delicatessen, meat and seafood departments.
Caterers
A warm and welcoming catering precinct is located at the back of the Grand Pavilion where you can sit in a relaxing environment and be tempted by fresh seafood, corn on the cob, yabbi pies, roast meats, french crepes and much much more!
Around the Grounds
Royal Cafe
The Royal Cafe is a great place to grab a coffee or sandwich in the relaxing surroundings before heading out to enjoy the Show again. The Royal Cafe is located opposite the Showbag Pavilion next to the Members & Councillors Dining Room.
Country Women’s Association (CWA)
A day at the Show is not complete without a visit to the CWA to try their trademark scones, a hot breakfast, lunch or dinner spreads! Find out more about how the CWA help to improve the conditions for women and children and make life better for families, particularly those living in rural and remote Australia. The CWA is located on the Grand Boulevard opposite the Living & Lifestyle Pavillion.
Cattleman’s Bar
Kick off the end of the day by putting your feet up in a relaxed environment with friends and enjoy a cold drink in a warm surrounding at the Cattleman’s Bar located opposite the Showbag Pavillion behind the Members & Councilor’s Dining Room.
General Catering
Enjoy all the tastes and flavors of food around the Show including wonderful displays of traditional farmer’s food from the locally grown and seasonal choices such as corn on the cob, fresh seafood and homemade sausages to traditional show favourites such a fairy floss and hamburgers!
For nice healthy options be tempted by fresh wraps and sandwiches, roast meats, fresh seafood and much, much more!
