Official Opening Ceremony

The Governor of Victoria will officially open the Royal Melbourne Show on Saturday September 18 at 11.30am on the Coca-Cola Arena. See the parade enter the arena, hear the national anthem and watch skydivers parachute onto the grounds.

Emirates Melbourne Cup Parade

Show patrons will have the opportunity to join the 150th Melbourne Cup celebrations on Sunday 26th September, when the Emirates Melbourne Cup visits the Royal Melbourne Show, bringing together two of Victoria’s most iconic events. The Emirates Melbourne Cup Parade will feature past cup winners and the cup itself. Take the rare chance to have your picture with the Melbourne Cup at the Public Stand from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, and 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Kids Day at the Show

The first 10,000 children through the gates dressed as their favourite costume character or farm animal on the final day of the show – September 28 – will receive a free limited edition Royal Melbourne Show showbag and have the chance to win great prizes in the All Star Licensed Costume Character Kids Day Parade. Come and see your favourite characters including Bart Simpson, Elmo, Dora the Explorer, Batman, Scooby Doo, Tweety and Sylvester in the Kids Day Show Parade.

Showtime FMX Freestyle Motorbikes

The ShowTime Yamaha FMX Team has been thrilling crowds all around the world for 10 years with their death defying stunts and this year the Showtime team will be a standout in the Coca Cola Arena. Performing 3 times a day at 12noon, 3pm and 7.30pm every day their fully choreographed performances include Australia’s top freestyle Moto X performers jumping dirt bikes 80 feet ramp to ramp and reaching heights of over 45 feet. Whilst in the air riders perform tricks such as the holygrab, ruler, jackhammer and the crowd favorite back flip.

Oliver’s Swiss High Diving Extravaganza

Towering 25 meters above a pool of water only, 2.8 meters deep, is a tiny platform barely big enough to see. Hold your breath as one of the divers climbs the tower, and from his tiny perch, performing an array of amazing somersaults, spins and twists at an incredible speed, falling at 90km per hour before landing in the shallow pool below. Just one of the 70 dives you will see by 5 international divers in this spectacular 25minute show, the highest dive show ever performed in Australia.

Direct from Switzerland, the Oliver Show delivers breathtaking daredevil stunts and unparalleled Olympic athleticism……sensational world-leading entertainment at its best!

Be blown away by the incredible Diving Inferno, set alight, flames engulfing his body he makes the most daring of dives from 25 meters high. Feast your eyes on the display world-class Olympic dives performed by all 5 of the divers in perfect synchronicity! Be entertained by the comic displays of aerial diving high jinks and slapstick comedy.

Directed and created by the current world high dive record holder (at 54m) Oliver Favre-Bulle, Oliver’s Swiss High Diving Extravaganza is world-class fun for the whole family.

Sampson the Monster Truck

Back by popular demand Sampson Monster Truck will feature on the Coca- Cola Arena 3 times a day at 12noon, 3pm and 7.30pm over the 11 days of the Show! Come and be deafened by the roar of the engine as the Monster Truck spectacularly jumps into the air, an astounding 8 metres high and 8 metres in distance (the entire length of a bus)! With 1200 Horse power engine, and each tyre weighing in at half a tonne with the whole truck weighing over 3 tonne, this monster attraction is an awe-inspiring sight for all you action seekers!

Thomas and Friends

Come and see Thomas and Friends in their live show Signal Fault four times a day at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the Kids Zone. Kids will love the wonderful world of Thomas the Tank Engine live onstage in a colorful and entertaining musical spectacular! Celebrating everyone’s favorite little engine, Thomas is an interactive, educative mix of live performance, music and theatrical magic.

Nightly Fireworks

As the day comes to a close and the sun sets, the Show will continue to be a hive of activity with a dazzling fireworks display. A definite highlight of the night will see the entire sky light up with a beautiful fireworks and laser show on the Coca- Cola Arena!

Live Music

Groove along to live music on the Herald Sun Town Square with a variety of performances from bands including Code One and the Moovin and Groovin Orchestra.

The Great Tasting Experience

The Great Tasting Experience features two intimate stages in the Grand Pavilion providing demonstration from chefs and industry experts. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about wine, beer and coffee through informative master classes. A treat for all the senses, you will see, smell and taste different varieties of wine, beer and coffee and learn how to match your favourite foods with your favourite drinks.

Kids Cooking Competition

Budding chefs are invited to show off their cooking skills in the Kids Cooking Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show. Each day at 11am on the Great Tasting Experience stage, two teams from a different school will cook off to see who is best mini chef! This hotly contested competition is a great way of encouraging the younger generation to have a greater interest in good food!

The Cooking Competition is open to all young cooks so get the recipes out and start cooking!

Summer Bay comes to the Royal Melbourne Show!

Don't miss out on your opportunity to say hello to your favourite Home and Away stars when they visit the 2010 Show on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September.
